Last week our teacher announced that a Chinese Character Dictation Competition would be held in the auditorium on April 3. Many of us were interested and hoped to participate, but only one competitor was allowed for each class. Luckily, I got the chance.
In the following days, I busied myself preparing for the competition. My classmates all volunteered to help. Some of them dictated to me various characters they found in the dictionary while others offered to check my answers. As the competition was approaching, I felt more and more confident. The day finally came. Some characters were so challenging that many of the competitors got stuck while I was able to write down most of them and won the first prize.
When I was standing excitedly on the stage, pictures of my classmates helping and encouraging me flashed into my mind. The victory and honor belonged to all of us.

       The Lantern Festival of this year fell on March 5^th. On that day after school, I hurried back home to join in the preparation of the big family feast. Grandparents taught me how to make sweet dumplings while Dad and Mom made dishes. Then came the grandest dinner time. We all agreed that homemade dumplings tasted much sweeter. We chatted happily, enjoying the family togetherness. After the dinner, we went to the park to appreciate the beautiful lanterns, the highlight of this festival. Two huge dragon lanterns especially amazed us and we couldn’t help flashing our cameras. Walking in the park and admiring the beautiful moon, we felt we were so lucky to have each other as a family and valued the time we spent together.

One Possible Version What I did last week deeply impressed me and made me feel a little proud. Last Monday,I was walking to the classroom when a card with a key lying on the ground caught my eyes. I picked it up , finding that it was a canteen card but there was no name on it,only the card number. I was puzzled how I could return it to the owner. I searched my head and suddenly came up with a good idea: I could turn to the canteen for help. Thinking that the owner might have been worried, I headed there directly without delay. There, with the card number, the canteen accountant referrred to the record and evneually found the owner's name and class. Immediately, I went to the class and
returned the card to her. She thanked me again and again, expressing her appreciation. Saying goodbye, I went back to attend my class. What I did is not big but in my opinion it is what we should do.
